Now I lack a personality and the ability to interact with people unless they're forced to sit in a darkened room. I'm not clever enough to be a doctor or dentist or caring enough to be a nurse. I lack creativity and any measurable skill.

I fully suspect you weren't serious LDR, but if you'd like some impartial advise about smartphones and tablets then I'd be happy to offer it without forcing an 84 month contract down your throat along with a phone that is as useful as a tin of beans for capturing solar flare activity readings.

Samsung Tocco Lite, Blackberry curve are cheaper phone options... or iPad if you want a tablet.
