What do you guys make of this interview off football focus with JC. Seems reasonable to me, as I wish we never signed him, but his signing reflects where we were at the time i suppose.
Any thoughts?

He would have been fine for us had it not been for injuries. No lack of effort or quality from him though. If he was fit and firing after he's loan period I'd like to see him come back.

Where would you see him playing for us though?
I can't see him making CAM for us. During his time with us he started brightly in pre-season but after his debut vs arsenal it went downhill, and after his injury he seemed to just slow our game down massively, even if most of his games came under Hodgeson who was imposing some of the worst football i've witnessed us play, JC didnt seem to me to be that creative.
That said if he can get that spark back whilst in France he could force himself into Kenny's plans, but personally I don't see it myself.

I don't wish we never signed him. He is a good player, just short on confidence for us, starting off with that sending off against Arsenal which was never in a million years a sending off.
He seems to be getting his confidence back which can mean one of two things, he comes back to us and plays better or we get a decent price for him from France.

I'll say this, at the time it seemed a good signing. In hindsight it didn't work out. Does anyone feel that Hodgeson's style of play was maybe a factor in his lack of confidence, as visible throughout the team, or do you think it was more the injury?

Certainly it was a factor. Cole needs the freedom to express himself, the rigid defensive 4-4-2 which Hodgson preaches was never going to allow that.
