Who is the best?

People will forever argue who is the best jockey (national hunt a flat to follow perhaps?) so im going to do my top 5 list and reasons why.Please join in and add your own top 5 and explain why lets get some debate going.

1.Ruby Walsh
This is probably the easiest pick out of all of them he has perfect technique,poise,judgement and the one that counts most natural horsemanship Ruby is the king of cheltenham and still has a good few years in him to set the record for most wins even higher.

2.Davy Russel
Probably a surprise choice but i think Davy Russel is going to become a big big name in national hunt even more than he is now he has all the skills and real elegance when hes riding.They way i see it is if i had a horse running and Ruby wasn't available Davy would be the closest thing to replacing Ruby.

3.Sam Twiston-Davies
Remember last year when this kid was the new big thing?Hes gone a bit quiet now since he he came back but his skills aren't gone he really is a kid i would trust on any horse to win and its his rate of winners on outside chances he's hungry and looks like he's going to have an incredible career ahead he has determination brilliant skill and is willing to learn from the older pro's and is highly rated amongst the older jocks.

4.Paul Townend
Hes still only young and is the champion jockey in Ireland only because Ruby Walsh was injured but none the less that says a hell of alot about what Willie Mullins thinks about this guy to trust him to take over all of Ruby's rides and that pressure hasn't got him he's so calm and rides the perfect ride nearly everytime in my honest opinion when Ruby hangs up his boots this is the guy that will replace him for a very very long time he oozes pure class.

5.Robbie MacNamara
This has to be the greatest shame in the sport this is a guy whos weight will always prevent him turning pro standing at 6,3 is probably one of the tallest jockeys ever but he is amazing he doesnt let his height hold him back he mainly rides for Dermot Weld but is constantly racking up the winners and his strike rate is phenonimal for a man that gets way fewer rides than any other jockey give his talent to someone smaller you actually have someone who could easily match Ruby Walsh.
