I've posted this link a few times now but it makes me smile every time I read it and sums up for me why Erik is a cult hero. Any other teams fans would only know him as a gangly shirtfiller that played for us 10 years ago when the rest of us know what he really was. A legend.

I can't think of anyone in the current squad who could be a cult hero, we need to sign someone either old or mad, preferably both!

IMO the only player from our current squad who'd even remotely fall into the 'cult hero' category is Jay Spearing... Sktrel's always been borderline, IMO - but has actually started playing half-decent in recent times...

Good shout on Speraing, but he needs to play more to qualify

Jonjo is not bad.

Remember that free-kick he took last season from somewhere near the halfway line. He saw the keeper off his line and thought why not.

He then got a pasting from Agger and looked at him as if...."You wouldve done the same"

Not in the Biscan/Traore scale of things though, there's no-one who can reach that level of cult status in our current squad.

Maybe we should sign Obi Mikel from Chelsea?
