That's always been my issue with JC - every once in a while he unleashes a screamer like that one you've linked to, the goal against Sweden etc - everyone gets excited, he's dubbed 'better than Messi' (ahem), and then he disappears for 12 months, living off the back of those wonder moments...

Occasionally class, but woefully inconsistent... Shame it never worked out with us, I honestly thought it would.

Wasted his career at Chelsea lucky to feature in carling cup ties and such along with swp.

It is a shame it didnt work out but the good thing is he's doing well at Lille which works well for us either way because if he comes back we get an in-form player and on the other hand the better he plays for them the more £££ we'll get for him when he goes

Reminds me of Smicer. Every time he was on the verge of being sold, he'd pop up and score 4 goals in 3 games or something.

Made up for every poor touch in 2005 though
