Ireland up to 21 in FIFA Rankings!!!!

FIFA rankings, like everything else in FIFA, are a joke!

Never take them seriously. Yes, in the long term it helps our seedings for qualifications, tournaments, playofff, etc but how they come up with them is anyones guess

You need to take night classes to work out how they come up with the points gained or lost!!!!

like it or not, we have to take them seriously. The fact is, you win games and collect points, your ranking improves, your seeding improves, co-effecienct etc etc so they are certainly not something to be ignored.

A high ranking means a good seeding and an easier qualifying group.

A poor ranking means getting cast as 3rd seeds and dumped into a tough WC qualifying group like the one we've got with Germany and Sweden next autumn ... so yes, I take the rankings very seriously.

Trap deserves credit for getting us up the table again after the previous 2 clowns managed to sabotage our position completely.

If only the WC qualifying draw had been made now instead of a few months ago.
