Agree Tez..thought Boom Boom was okay, with the right partner. But PC is captain so LC isn't going to do anything there , yet.

There seems to be alot of jumping on the bandwagon having a go at Peter Clarke. He was never my favourite player and i called for him to be dropped over a year ago but let's be honest he is our best centre half.

If a Championship club had the choice of centre backs they would not think twice about who they would take. He has his faults but his strengths far outway them.

I have to disagree Boothy, Clarkes strengths are suited to lower league football and his weaknesses would be highlighted even more playing at a higher level. McCombe has strengths that would benefit the Championship as well, and with the right partner he would do a decent job in that league as he already has with Bristol City.

McCombe can actually read the game and is dominant in the air, whereas all Clarke is good for is playing with his heart on his sleeve and acting as a brick wall - classic lower league defending.

Cas, not a massive Clarke fan as a feel very nervous when a foward has the ball near our penatly area as he does not seem to know when to stand or put his foot in.
Mccombe's sending off didn't do him any favours but his reading of the game or there lack of against Swindon was unfortunately his final nail in the coffin I think

I like McCombe but he lost his place at Bristol City and then again with us. Peter Clarke has been the first name on the team sheet at every club he has been at after Everton. Not all those managers can be wrong.

McCombe playing with someone with a bit of pace could be excellent. I fear for Jamie because he has got on a sinking ship at Preston where fans won't give him any time or benefit of the doubt and when they see him with the ball at his feet, well.

clark had to blame someone.. the pushing and pulling at corners/free kicks is one thing but having your nuts grabbed is certainly another..
mccombe reacted like most men would and dropped the other bloke..he got off lightly in my opinion.. poor ref/linos again see only one side.. lee clark massively overdid the aftermatch character assasination of mccombe and they must have fallen out..since that time kay/cooper and p clarke have all given away daft goals but stayed on the pitch????
Alan lee hasnt been vilified by the club for being sent off and we even appealed?? neither time did the officials see the full incident why didnt we appeal jamies???
Clark gets it wrong everytime something goes awry, thats all..
