He hasn't missed THAT many seasons due to injury, I mean we know how injury prone he can be but he does have a decent number of apps for arsenal over the years and excluding this season he has only had two seasons where he made less than 30 appearances (2007/2008,2009/2010) which I recall is when he had some long term injuries.
I'm not saying he doesn't have his injury problems, but I do think it has been slightly over-exaggerated.

Yes he scored 20 goals in 08/09, 22 last season and is on 17 already this season.

He's never hit 20 premierleague goals in a season though which even Darren Bent has done. And has he ever hit 30 goals in total?

Rooney has only ever scored 20 league goals once in his career and 30 in all comps once in his career and it didn't stop the hype around him (especially when the hype started before he even scored those goals). RVP will manage all that this season anyway and if he stays fit will score 40 in all comps FACT
