As I am still bored and my previous article seemed to get a good response (us Gooners are in a good mood after our great form in the last 10 games) I thought I would try another one.
Considering how it is being mentioned a lot due to the possible participation of certain "big" English clubs, I thought I would pose this question.
Assume that, by some miracle, Arsenal manage to finish outside the top 4 - but qualify for the Europa League. Would you wish for Arsene Wenger to pursue European honours despite it being the "B" competition?
I for one would love to win the Europa League. Considering the standard of teams in the competition, it would be fair to say that Arsenal would stand a good chance at winning (at least be considered one of the favourites) and it would be brilliant if we at least attempted to both end our trophy drought (assuming we win nothing this season) and won a European trophy - although not the premier one.
I reckon we could play our 2nd string to get through some of the earlier rounds and then slowly integrate some first team players as we progress through the tournament (last 16 and beyond). A stronger team than those that play in the early rounds of the Carling Cup but not the first team itself (rest players such as RVP, Wilshere, Song, Vermaelen, Szczesny, etc.). This would be a better test for our squad depth than that posed by the teams we play in the Carling Cup and so could only be a good thing.
Btw, this is all hyopthetical as I hope, and fully expect, Arsenal to be finishing in the top 4 this season and as such will be playing in the Champions League for the 14th consecutive season (I think it would be 14?).
WHAT SAY YOU?!
P.S. Spurs fans are actually encouraged to respond as would also like to know whether they want Harry Redknapp to pour resources into winning the Europa League this season (if you progress far enough with the reserves) even though this dents your chances of finishing in the top 4 due to fixture congestion.

We should be good enough to get through the group stages with a "B" team.
If we get through, then we play strong teams in the 1st legs, and see how that goes.
It will be interesting to see what sort of line-ups Spurs field in the knockout stages, and if they play strong teams, how it will affect their Sunday form.
