going off on a tangent a la Danny Baker, has Paul Benson been cleared to play for you?

He had agreed a permanent contract at Bradford City from January, following an initial loan spell, and his family was happy to move north. Then at his medical the club's renowned Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Steve Bolien, discovered a problem. So City suggested to Charlton that the agreed fee be paid in stages based on his appearances.The surgeon spoke to their physio to no avail. Charlton took the huff and said Benson could go on loan anywhere but Bradford.

Perhaps the fact that Phil Parkinson was sacked by Charlton it didn't help our cause.

Bantam, ain't got a clue mate! I live in Leics so rely on sites like this to give me info. Don't know about BCFC official site, but if it is the same as STFC's, it tells you nothing unless you want to buy something.
But, I lived in Bradford in the '70s, lived at the end of Park Avenue so used to watch them, but would go to Valley Parade 'cos you have to have a game to go to on saturdays. Worst toilets in any ground that I have been to. That includes time spent in Kenya & Ethiopia.
But the pies were OK!
I still have contacts up there, & actually got a bet on with a Bantam's fan now living in Singapore about which of us does best this season.

Regarding the clock on the Stratton bank, it's apparently a unique one off. I remember in my youth climbing it for a better view in the days when we got sell out crowds ! I think the scoreboard is one of wembleys old ones.
Bantom. Benson was training with us on Friday but there has been a problem with us getting the paper work over to the FA before the 5 pm deadline. We are only talking about several minutes so are hoping the loan will still happen. Interesting story on our official site. To be honest I thought the failing the medical at Bradford was just your club trying to get Benson at a reduced cost so interesting to read your side of things.
Hope we do manage to get him in as we are still lacking a proven goal scorer. All the best to you too, hope to see you in the final.
