Hello all,
Well... it's official, Eck is now Villa manager. He has truly gone down in my estimation as a manager and a person, there is a reason why no manager had made a direct cross from one club to another and it is respect. What Mcleish has done is in my opinion disrespectful to Blues fans who feel betrayed and Villa fans who want an attacking manager. I don't hate Mcleish and I'll always remember the final and how he was a straight talking type of guy who didn't like to pass the blame, but this has got to go down a big error of judgement.
All thoughts welcome, KRO

Very disrespectful. The fact he brought Marlon King then resigns hurts more!
Thanks but goodbye, time for a new era at Birmingham City FC

The biggest thing now for Blues, is finding a good replacement for Alex Mcleish.
We all know the type of football he will ultimately take to the villa and impose on their players and for this I am truely happy. Almost as happy as I was when I heard that he had resigned, albeit via email but what do expect from worms like Mcleish.
As I said, its really important for us to bring in a decent manager that other players will want to play for and a manager that will attract talent. This needs to be done as soon as possible and then Birmingham City can embark upon new challenges and start playing the type of football the paying fans deserve to see.
I really hope the board dont let us down here !!!

End of the day i am disapointed in whats happened, i agree that from a neutral stand point who would want to stay at Blues in the Championship when they can Manage a bigger Prem Club with more of a budget.
But the fact that McLeish was not only mainly responsible for tacking us down, is bad but worse how he can then walk into our rivals is just to me plain lack of respect.
Had McLeish say gone to a SPL, Championship or other Prem Club for say 1 season done well then got the call up from Villa it would not be so bad.
So i have lost a lot of respect for McLeish as a man and if he gets a lot of stick and hate from both Blues and Villa fans then he deserves what he gets.
He could have been remembered as a Hero for us, but what has happened now would tarnish that and in 10 years most fans would remember McLeish for Negative Football, 2 Relegations and being a Judas by joining Villa showing no respect for Bluenoses rather than being remembered for that 9th place finish and the League Cup.
