The usual optimism, opinions or onions?

Just had a look through at fixtures for next year, like most of us I assume.

The three that stick out are the two derbies - of which we will win both, naturally. The other is Bournemouth on the 13th August, this could be a good day out at the seaside if the weather is good - it will also give us a good idea of how we are doing against a decent side from last year. As for the rest, I will go with my usual optimism and say that they are all 3 points in the bag.

So the obvious question is, what do others think and what fixtures stand out?

BTW - I am actually Shibboleth30 from the old 606, someone has still decided to use my name so please don't think their comments are from me. Hope you all have a good summer, be nice to see some old and familiar faces on here once the season gets under way.

chesterfield and the snorters in the same week ! that stands out like someone doesnt like wednesday much ! i know its a computer that makes the fixtures ,but it supports the grunters !
huddersfield at xmas stands out too i think we might actually beat them this time ! and wycombe at home the last game is very kind but so was exeter last year ? also rochdale at home can you ask for an easier opening day fixture ? and last but not least like you say bournmouth ! get your buckets full up with sand lads ! youre going to nead ever last grain to stick your heads firmly in it this season the bandwagons rareing to go beep beeep !

I think the event organisers of the Football League 1 fixture list are very inconsiderate!

i don't return from Ops until the 11th Aug and therefore I miss the 1st game of the season! Then I'm at V festival for the next home game so that's 2 games of my season ticket I'm missing! I can see a trip to Bury on the Horizon for these Y-Fronts!

However, I'm fairly optomistic this season (as always) deluded may be a better word, but I'm going for a top 6 finish and 6 points against the Blunts!

I truly believe we will finish bottom with 0 points

I may be wrong here Imres mummy, but I’m sure it's still all worked out by hand by a bloke in a room, they were 2 years ago?? So you can blame him entirely -

"I truly believe we will finish bottom with 0 points"

Happy clapping blind optimism, IMO.

We also thought Exeter and Brentford were easy points and they both did the double over us, It's about time we start taking the smaller teams seriously, we have to play for the right for the points not just 'know' we're better.... we did that last season and loook where it got us...spanked by almost everyone

Hopefully the new look Megson re-vamp will show us some semblance of a footballing unit (it better or he will have an unpleasant xmas bonus)

Hardly spanked by everyone.....

.....just the galactico's of Exeter & Leyton Orient.

Ahh I did say almost

Oh and there was Peterborough (Twice also) Tranmere and Plymouth

The rest just made us look average to mediocre

I wouldn't call losing games by a couple of goals a spanking!
