After quite a lot of criticism of our fans regarding our treatment of Kean, it seems to me like there's a bit of a change in general opinion after the last 2 games. Getting an undeserved point against the previously worst team in the league and then a pitiful capitulation against a very out-of-form Stoke, seems to have finally woken his apologists up to what a woefully bad manager he is. About time! Kinda feels like we deserve an apology really doesn't it? OBVIOUSLY as fans who've watched the bald clown in action since last December, we were gonna recognise his glaring flaws first. But rather than consider we're probably right, we've received mostly criticism from pundits, newspapers and opposition fans ever since.
Maybe its a credit to Kean that he somehow managed to keep the football world in the dark about how **** he is this long. He's always interviewed well and obviously its easier to be gullible and swallow his rubbish if you don't actually support the team he's in charge of. But when he goes on about positives after going 3-0 down to a team that have just been hammered by Bolton and lost at home to QPR, even the most ignorant of his supporters must finally cotton on. Gone are the likes of Shearer and Gallacher sticking up for him, now we've got Hendry, Diouf and the main sponsor saying things how they really are.
Any chance Venkys might listen now?
Are the press/neutrals finally getting it?

"The Scot wants a new right-back.....a midfield general and a striker to give him options up front."
For £10m !!! Clueless Venkys
It would cost £10m just for a half decent striker!!

I think it may be to do with the fact that whilst we were losing we had started to play a bit better. However these last two games have been very poor.

What gets me is why people EVER expected him to do well?
What gets me, is why people suddenly think the problem is new?
Don't do it often B&WH but I have to disagree that Kean interviews well. I have never heard any football manager spout so much bull waste. His pre-rehearsed media soundbites are all of the same ilk, rarely relevant or factual and written purely for the owners to hear.

True Oojw, but for a generic arm chair audience and a media bereft of the intelligence to ask pertinent questions; perfecto!

I agree thats how he comes across to most Rovers fans because we watch 90 minutes of every (or at least most) games, analyse our performances and analyse his results in the long-term.
But for the neutrals/press I think Kean says most of the right things in interviews. He's always positive, always upbeat, rarely moans about refs, usually accepts defeat gracefully and comes across as plucky and unwilling to give up. He talks about the protests in a reasonable and diplomatic way. And he usually ends the interview with a bit of charm, smiling and with a few friendly words to the interviewer.
Thats exactly the kind of guy the press warm to and neutrals stick up for. Its all superficial, its all nonsense, the stats he quotes are utterly laughable, but I think he does a good job of disguising those flaws with the rest of his approach.

Someone posted a link to his after match comments whilst at Fulham. The similarities are amazing to his comments now!
He has learnt a few scripts and pulls down off them subject to circumstances. Don't forget they are all well educated and schooled in dealing with the media.
I think the apathy elsewhere is due in the main to no-one really caring and us being relatively small news. Thankfully people are waking up now and our plight will hopefully be evaluated properly and in detail, thus nullifying anything 'positive' Kean has to say.
