on a warm August day.... 1993 with an expectant season ahead... we start as champions.... first game, Spurs... me, a fresh faced 13 year old Italian with broken English sat in the west stand awaiting the players to come out..... a huge raw and the music came... the players are emerging from the tunnel.... a floppy black haired fellow... Mr Gary Speed... ran out with the rest of the Leeds team... much to the amusement of many fans sat around me as Mr Gary Speed had changed his hair style...
Leeds won 5 - 0.... Mr Gary Speed put in afine performance... can't remember if he scored or not... but he played well
memories eh?

I have sat and watched that vid with tears in my eyes it's wierd because I never knew him outside of watching him play but you felt a sense that he was one of the boys....he never stopped loving the game, taking time signing autographs sorting tickets out for fans.....gave 8 years of his life playing for Leeds in todays game thats a massive achievement and a sign of his committment for the teams he played for same with Newcastle and 4 more years for Bolton
