verry disapointed in Drogba

just goes to show what the game is a bout these days, and that most players are just interested in money

He was always arrogant however this is a bit of an insult to the club.
However he has served for the club for the long time, and at times he was un play able!

At times Drogba has been his own worst enemy, as although he has given so much to the club he has also disgraced us! Maybe if his attitude was better he could have acheived a lot more in his career, as his technical ability, power and ruthlessness was extradinary!

Despite his short comings as a professional, I do beileve the player does make up for it for his charity work hes done over the years.

I do love Drogba but he has let this club down a lot in the past, whether he stays or leaves he will always be regarded by me as a Chelsea legend and the best striker of the past decade!

I see nothing wrong with that what so ever, he's in the twlight of his career and well within his right to seek a transfer based on finanical gain.

I wouldn't even have offered him a new deal, just convince him to stay until his contract does wind down to act as cover/super sub for Torres/Sturridge (though AVB has other ideas atm it seems) and let him leave gracefully, retaining the memory of the legend he undoubtedly is.

Plus, ask him out of respect for us as a club to seek a move abroad - no Hargreaves-Man City deals

He's not being disrespectful to Chelsea. In fact it is his agent who is talking about money - that's his job. If an agreement is not available for him at Chelsea then I see no reason why he can't look for as much as he can get elsewhere. Good luck to him. He's served us well. The important thing is who we are going to replace him with - and Anelka.

Agree with HHHBF. Good luck to him - go out pretty near the top, and get the best deal going.

Ive never ever thought any player has disrespected our club. They all play their part for as well and as long as they can and then it's time to disappear.

The Gary Speed thing and the revelations about other players seeking help shows how much they give and put up with.

Major of the golden team

"Once you are well into your thirties you have to go to a club where you can be certain you'll be able to pay your bills."

Words well and truly fail me.

Not DD's words, but those of his agent, and you don't pay any attention tho those low lifes now do you

That does seem to be a quality unique to us as a large fanbase. Bogarde, and maybe Gallas, are the only players i can think of who got the 'traitor' treatment, all others who part ways are appreciated for their time and commitment why'll serving under the club, even if their departure is wrapped in controversy. It's a level of maturity that some other fanbases just haven't got ..... e.g. if the Torres scenario had been reversed, although we'd get the odd fan screaming blue murder, i guarantee there'd be a general appreciation for his services and the legacy he left behind. He'd be nothing like the hate figure he is at Anfield.

If anything, we're more likely to condemn players who rejected us without giving their services (e.g. Robinho).

If that is true and its also the opinion of Drogba himself I respect Drogba even more. Its all about money these days. When someone is honest I cant really see what the fuss is all about.

What do you expect? Do you think Beckham went to Hollywood because its so nice there? I cant stand players who are lying in saying they are looking for a new challenge or something like this. Respect Drogba from a Gunner.

Drogba's got a country to finance, those are going to be some pretty hefty bills!

Legend in my eyes, I won't hate him for it at all. Anyhow, this is his agent who is talking, when he say's "Drogba needs to pay his bills" He really means - "I need to pay for my new yacht".

Absolutely agree. That's why i was so annoyed with Pastore after his first meeting with the French press. If he'd have just spoken the truth, and said he joined PSG because they offered a great finanicial package i'd have totally respected that as a vaild reason. Or he simply preferred living in Paris than London. But no, he choose Ligue 1 over the PL, Europa over the CL ..... for 'footballing' reasons
