It seems we are going to be signing this chap.
Havn't seen much of him live but I know he a quality player in this league.
But considering his goalscoring records, he is only going to be worth about 3m for us (Considering Danny Graham was signed for 6m)
So what would you guys consider to be his weaknesses.
Does he play off a 'big man' for you, it looks like he'll be playing alongside David Nugent for us, so two pacy strikers will that be ok for him?
I know he is one of your better (if not best) players and he'll probably become one of ours too so i'm really excited that we sign him.
Thanks for reading, look forward to seeing your replies.

If Nicky goes to Leicester for 3m, I will rip up my season ticket and post it to Keith Millen.
If we are to progress we have to KEEP our best players, otherwise relegation battle here we come (again)

Parallels here with us selling Lambert.
*He went to a bigger club in the same division with more potential.
*It showed that we did not have the ambition or capability to keep him
*We went downhill from there.
Sorry, but that's how it is..........................

AKCJ - there is a lot of talk about Maynard at the moment. If you read the 'rumours' section on our official site he has been linked with moves to about 6 different clubs.
He still has a year left to run on his contract with us and if we do sell him we will need to give Crewe some money from the sale due to a sell-on clause that was factored in when we bought him.
I can't see us letting him go for less than £4m - and I can't see anyone paying that for him either - so he stays with us!
That is of course provided he doesn't decide himself that he wants to move on....

why would he want to go to leicester????
-
Owners ambitions, world class manager and money?!
Top (our owner) wants to be secured into the top half of the Premier League with in 5-8 years and he is willing to pay top dollar for that.
Honestly, I know he is one of your best players and I would also not want andy King (our best player) to go for anything less that 5m.
But if he doesn't sign a new contract then Millen will want to cash in surely?
Otherwise thats a 2m waste.
We'll give him a better contract than you can offer him and so I think that if no Premier League club comes in for him, then he'll join us.

In addition to which if he does move on he wants it to be to a team in the Premiership and when I last looked you were in the championship only 5 places higher than us, and we had a pretty dismal year, so it would seem highly improbable.

Stop worrying.......Mr. Sexstone has stated categorically today that Maynard is not for sale.
""There is always going to be speculation about players like Nicky, but I can assure our supporters he is not for sale."
So that's an end to it!

Now had that statement come from Mr Higgs I would be planning on a future without whatever manager/player/tealady he was talking about.
