It is getting difficult..

..to defend Steve Kean. BUT, his comments on the forfeit have to be put in some sort of context. If he had said we forfeited the game and we had United, City and Spurs in our next three games, fair enough I would have berated him. But what Kean says is true. We DO have 4 games coming up against teams who we CAN and MUST get points against. I'm personally really looking forward to these games, forget the cup and move on.

Admittedly I wasn't at the game last night. But just a point on fans who are demanding a refund for the price of their ticket:

1. Tickets were priced only £15 for season ticket holders

2. How can you expect a good performance from your team if you go to shout 'kean out!' and generally be negative? If you had to do your job with somebody shouting abuse at you all day, you'd probably find it hard to get results too.

Finally before I get a 'stat attack' from some people, here is a fact to consider:

'The average number of legs of a person in the UK is less than 2.'

Telegraph:
Asked if his side could win the Carling Cup, he said: “Yes, definitely.

“When you get this far, we have got a good tie and we’re scoring goals on the road.

This is what gauls people, less than 24 hours later:

"We are in a position where we have forfeited going through and having the chance to reach a cup final.

"We have games against sides within touching distance of us in the league.

"We need to treat those games as cup finals."

well i guess we can put all this to bed come 4.45pm on saturday!! If we win then the forfeit argument against Kean will seem trite.

Ok wow, I'll give him this one.. ONE I stress, having read a number of snippets and yes what he says about the context does stack up. Still does not change his ability mind you

I agree MJ, and only results can ultimately support Kean. He can't talk in terms of potential for much longer, but it is time that I'm willing to afford him.

Sadly wow, His time is up now, Winning against Swansea cannot get us out of the relegation zone. and we are 33% of the way through the season, only one team has survived after being dead last at Christmas and they had 14 points at that point Twice as many as we have now.

and at the same point of the season as we are now had 10 points already

Plus a win against Swansea won't change the fact he said we'd try and win the game. Then to suggest we didn't even try when fans have travelled and he's not played a youth side...

It doesn't stack up mate!

""What I was trying to say was that by not winning we had forfeited an opportunity to take another step towards a Wembley final. If my explanation or wording was vague or unclear then I regret that"...
