You may know that Bramall Lane is owned by the People of Sheffield, not Sheffield United. However someone informed me, someone doing law, that if enough people wanted Sheffield United evicted from Bramall Lane, they would actually be evicted.

I guess if this is true, that Sheffield United own the stadium and lease the land, probably on some sort of long term lease (usually 99 years for these sorts of things) so I can't see them being evicted for a while - after all imagine the cost of decontaminating the site - a nuclear weapons site would be minor in comparison

Post eviction - Just seal the area in 10 metres of concrete casing and then build a car park (large enough to hold all the odd pairs of shoes discarded by disgruntled orcs).

Dear Mr.SARS,
I think your guess is true - they own the stadium, and lease the land.
Still. it's better than having a six-inch coating of paint over everything, I imagine...

I would like to say my opinion now, but if I do I feel UNISON will sue me for freedom of speech.

How rich do you think we are Chunder? There's a good foot or paint in most places now!
Though my own personal favourite was Saltergate where annual maintenance involved pouring 6 inches of concrete over the terraces - if they'd stayed there the ground would have stands the height of Wembley by the middle of the next decade
