I suspect England will stick with the same 10 that demoralised India last summer minus Bopara (replaced by Trott). For the next test match in the middle east.. So the starting 11 will be
Strauss
Cook
Trott
Pieterson
Bell
Morgan
Prior
Bresnan
Broad
Swan
Anderson.
The lower order looks formidable.I suspect with the wickets being flat after the opening bowlers of Pakistan being lulled and kept quiet..
The middle and lower order will milk that ball around for alsong as they want..
You are guranteed full test matches weatherwise. so the English batting will take as much time as they want to build long innings.. Thefore making it unlikely the opponent will force a result in their favour..
England's team

i disagree entirely amla. this is the most combative england team we have seen in decades. Hussain was a fighter, no question, but the proffesionalism and work ethic instilled in this team by flower, added to the attitude of guys like trott and broad make this england team anything but soft. they might not win in UAE, but i am certain they will not lose.

This England team have good techinal ability. Under pressure they preform..On occasions they have been behind the 8th ball. And the lower order as got them out of trouble. take Bresnan he is well capable of getting regular test 100s in my opinion hes that good.. Thats great knowning you have a batting line up that strong you'll not lose many games..

Series win against Australia and India showed that apart from talent they are meticulously good planners but ARE THEY HARD ENOUGH to win in subcontinent? We 'll see.

What exactly do you mean by "hard" Amla?

I see it this way with England currently.. Its like the great Aussie team.. They had a top notch batting line up. They knew in most games they would outscore the opponents. They had Gilchrist at number 7..There bowlers just set out to bowl the opposing teams out once they knew the game was safe.. Now Australia arent scoring the 450's on a regular bases.Their opponents get close or over take them on first or 3rd innings..
Aslong as England continue to get around 400/450.. They will not lose many games. All it takes is one batsman to score an 100 and the lower order to chip in with 40s and 50s and your there..

The big tests for the English batsman will be there patience cos on those slow tracks scoring 4 or even 3 an over is difficult. If they feel they have to score 300 plus a day then they will lose wickets. In England they are used to scoring fast and they do it well with pacey tracks but in UAE they will have to use there feet more and wrist action so the likes of Bell and KP may struggle but I can see Morgan do well along with the dogged Trott and Cook.

bell!!???
bell has the finest technique, he is a fine player of spin, and his footwork is second to none. i hope it is a case of you getting bell mixed up with morgan, because otherwise, you look a bit silly!

IF KP gets his head right he can do what he wants in the middle hes that good. He averaged over an 100 in the series against India..

We have the best bowling attack in the world, ask the Indians & Aussies, let our opponenst worry about us for a change, if the pitches are going to be flat & like dust bowls we have the best spinner in the world, even if we win 1 test, can you see the Pakistanis bowling England out twice ? No me neither !

I think that you guys are getting ahead of yourselves a bit! We are a fine test team but i don't think it will be as easy as you guys think... England ALWAYS seem to struggle in the sub-cont & Pak are a solid side now. I think England will win the series but Pak have a very good bowling attack & i don't even want to think about what Ajmal is going to do to our batsman..
