I just had an interesting thought

Imagine a world without the anomaly that is City, spending more than any club in the history of football to become good, and have record debts. Fair Play Rules?

In this brave new world, Spurs would be top of the league right now

Not only that, they would be by far the best team in the country right now

All achieved with a first 11 costing 54 million

Less than the combined cost of Suarez and Carroll 120 million to secure 7th place, LOL
