Is the Swansea result i mere flash in the pan,,or have the Rovers turned the corner,,my thoughts are the result is a "flash in the pan",and normal service will be resumed at Sunderland next weekend,,;-(

I love how there is just a sudden presumption that because Sunderland are struggling we should automatically be winning there, and if we don't then lets all protest and boo Kean. I'm not happy with Kean either but we won at the weekend so really should be feeling better this week.
Considering our last 3 league results at Sunderland have been DLL then I don't think we should be expecting much, especially considering the MON factor. Wigan won there but were extremely fortunate with a penalty and then a calamity of errors in injury time allowing Di Santo to score a winner.
I think a draw would be an excellent result, anything more would be a huge bonus. By drawing we effectively take 2 points away from Sunderland that they'd be expecting.
If you look at the fixtures for Wigan, Wolves, Fulham and Bolton over the next couple of weeks they've got it tougher than us. Beating Bolton and WBA at home is the priority. 7 points from the next 3 games would prove an excellent return.

Maccy, I agree it's not going to be easy. However the Kean supporters suggested we had 6 winnable games coming up, at half way point we have 4 points. If we get to 8 from the 6 games it has to be considered a terrible return based on the fact we'll get little from the top 6-8 teams...

Pie I don't think they were ever dubbed 6 winnable games, it was 6 games that were much easier than our previous fixture where we could pick up points. Because we haven't won all 3 to date doesn't necessary mean he is failing.
We haven't won at Wigan in about 4-5 seasons now, that stretches well beyond Kean's tenure, and Wigan are rubbish every season. Under the circumstances we found ourselves in with an hour played a draw is not only a good result on paper but excellent in terms of fighting spirit.
We always lose at Stoke, we were simply shocking there under Sam in every game he played there, at least we managed to score this time...
Of the 6 fixtures, we've won the first one that we really should be winning, at home to a promoted side. Under Hughes or Sam the 3 results we've just had would be absolutely acceptable. Cardiff however was not.
I'm possibly one of the most optimistic Rovers fans and predicted we'd get 4 wins and a draw from the 6 results, I felt we'd win the 3 at home and sneak a win at Wigan or Sunderland and a draw. I'd still be extremely happy with 3 wins and 2 draws, we would also probably be about 10th in the table afterwards...

Optimism is fine and I didn't expect to win all six either. The problem is that we were already way adrift of an acceptable amount of points per games and if we don't win 2 of our next 3 we still are. Kean's tenure thus far doesn't bode well for us suddenly recording back to back wins.
Also, not really looked to be honest, but we must have an immensely difficult run of fixtures coming up.
Comparisons with Sam is frankly pointless at the moment. If Kean got us 10th I'd be the first on here singing his praises!

We've got Man Utd and Liverpool over Xmas after the easier fixtures, and in truth Jan and Feb overall aren't too bad fixture wise.
It wasn't a comparison to Sam vs. Kean man for man, more historical trends against certain teams, as in, we have struggled to win at Wigan and Stoke for a number of seasons...

Fair do's, but we've had a nack of picking up points when required...

Wigan have been our bogey team away since that 5-3 game under Hughes.
Stoke is just a horrible place to go.
Swansea at the start of the season I would have expected the win but was surprised we managed to get it after our run. Still, if we can start beating the lower half teams at home and taking points off them away, we'll be doing ourselves a huge favour.

That was probably the greatest component of having Sam at the helm, he just got points right at the crunch.
In fairness to Kean, he got the 5 points against Arsenal, Man Utd and Wolves that kept us up, he just put us in a very bad position before turning it around.

And (with my anti head on) we only played well for 1.5 of those games! The United game grinds my gears more than the other unmentionable game against them!
