i think we are fine in the left back department, robinson played very well last season when needed plus glen can cover than anyway but apart from that i agree

Left back is fine, you forget just how good Aurelio is when he's fit!

Centre Backs our strongest at 9 GK if it wasnt for Reina would be poor.

With Gerrard out Cole/Aqua on loan we lack a creative midfielder, not noticed it too much because of how class Suarez has been.

I agree with Fergie when he says you need 4 top strikers, and he refers to 99 when he had 4. So we definately need 1 more if not 2 if kuyts destined to midfield.

Cover for DM im not to sure, if spearing isnt up to it by january then a loan would be best.

Lassan Diarra (loan)
Marco Reus
2 Strikers

I read on SSN today that Frimpong would like to go on loan until the end of the season, that deal would suit us perfectly but its not going to happen for obvious reasons. I think Spearing is an ok back up at best but if we want 4th Spearings not good enough.

If we just signed a goal poacher in January I'd be happy

Frimpong

No thanks, theres so much more quality out there.

There is definately more quality out there but I dont know how many top quality players are interested in 3 month loan deals because we only need someone until Lucas returns.

We could definately do better than Frimpong but there are also a lot worse players who have been linked.

Plus he looks like B.A Barracus and thats always funny to see

You need someone like Klose. Poacher extraordinaire

Spearing is better than Frimpong. FACT

If Diarra is available on a short term loan then he would be a good signing but I do want Spearing to take his chance and do well enough that we do not need anyone. If he does live up to the potential shown in the reserves a few years back then he could be a surprise inclusion in the England Squad this summer.

As for the Keepers, well Reina is obviously one of the best in the world (one of before the wums have a go) and Doni is probably one of the best backup keepers in the league.

Right wing does need to be addressed as Henderson although can do a job is a CM and not a RW. Kuyt has his pros in the big games but also cons in the smaller games where we need someone like Lennon or Walcott to run at them (just with a better end product) Gerrard could do it a few years back but I don’t know how much this injury will have cost him in terms of that burst of pace when needed. Coleman is being mentioned as a possible Jan transfer, although I don’t know if I like the idea of buying from the blue half.

Up front I do think we have enough options (first team and reserves) and it is only a matter of time before they start to click with the rest of the team. When Carroll gets a chance it is more often than not on target and I am sure they will go in eventually (Crouch anyone).
