Koscielny

Good afternoon, gents. I'm here to discuss the rise of Koscielny. I've noticed over the past few weeks he is being bigged up by Arsenal fans on here and he has become fan favourite on here, and with good reason.

But for me he has been quality since signing for you guys. He had a shaky one or two games but he was outstanding for the majority of the season. He looks an absolute bargain at £8 million.

I've been watching him closely and I must say I'm very impressed. He's tackling and positioning is absolutely tremendous. For me he has now become one of the top five center backs in the Premier League.

Him and Vermaelen can form a formidable partnership in the heart of Arsenal's defence. Quality wise they are on a similar level, but for me Koscielny edges it in terms of out-and-out defending ability. However, Vermaelen is a better leader so he can help Koscielny develop that aspect of his game.

In conclusion I think it is fair to say he has become one of Arsenal's most important players over the past few months and with him and Vermaelen at the back Arsenal look a solid unit defensively. Since we need another quality center-back to partner Kompany at City, how about we put in a cheeky £16 million bid in January?
