Phil Jones

No WUM unlucky an all that.

Does he have a position? i mean, he clearly isnt a cm. he isnt the best cb united have, id say he is behind rio, vidic and smalling. and even though he is scoring he isnt a striker. i think even fabio and fergie are unsure on what to do with him.

my question is. where would YOU play him?

CB when he is ready... forget the CM experiment and RB experiment. Now Viidc is injured it's Smalling and RIo for me or Smalling and Jones when Rio needs a break. Evans as fourth choice!!

CB. defo. ball playing CB that can carry it out of defence at his feet too.

These players r VERY important 'in the transition' (ie. successfully and safely getting the ball upfield), particularly as more and more teams play high pressing games to expose less sure- footed defences.

Once he's got a bit of experience under his belt he'll be a top class CB, i'm pretty sure of that. But at this moment, like any young defender, he is prone to lapses in concentration and poor decisions which could prove costly (in fact already have a fair few times this season, the home tie against Basel springs to mind). But a couple of years playing alongside Vidic and Rio and he'll be fine.
