At the start of this season I was in the same camp as Ferguson, blindly convinced we had just about enough about us in CM to do well. Maybe it was the brilliant pace we started the season with or loyalty to my boy Clevz, hoping he would make the difference. But the early form, by everyone in the team just papered over the cracks that slowly have started to show.
But I digress, Sneijder is not the man we need. Yes, he would improve our CM no end, but there are better options out there, both tactically and financially.
Surely with only 6 months left on his contract, and the knowledge that he is actively assessing his options, we should be taking on hell of a serious look at Daniele De Rossi.
Being cup tied is not an issue now (not even 100% sure he is as he only played in qualifying - and no idea if it is different in Europa anyway). with only 6 months left we could wait it out until the summer - or go in with an offer of 10-15 million pounds in January.
Please Fergie, please.
P.S. Smalling - Jones - Ferdinand - Evra (he needs a kick up the ar$e too) should be the defence while Vidic is out. NOT JOHNNY EVANS.

This is what people have told me for past 3 months !!
And yes your right about Sneijder he wouldn't solve all out CM problems but he is what we needed, someone creative and able to RETAIN the ball thus helping out our defence by actually have the ball and not passing straight to other side or pumping it blindly forward expecting Rooney to make something from a rubbish pass.
We have serious problems that NEED to be addressed and serious money spent !

DeRossi and Goetze were the obvious summer choices and still are, but I wouldn't complain about Eriksen instead of Goetze, and maybe with Ajax out as well it helps. I'd also get a proper right back like Van Der Wiel, who is also available.
