Hi guys, I haven't really done a massive amount of research but was hoping you guys knew.
I've finished a few games recently (Oblivion, Fallout 3, Mass Effect 2) and was wondering whether you need to be on Xbox Live to get Downloadable Content. I have no other possible use for Live as I prefer to play one player games rather than online competitive ones and would hate to have to pay twice for something (once for a live subscription and once for the DLC).
Cheers in advance.

Not yet Betamax. I've bought it, but not played it yet. I know it's going to consume a fair amount of my time (Like Morrowind and Oblivion have) so I'm waiting until my x-mas holidays to properly lay into it.

You get a free 1 month with your xbox! Create an account and at the end when it asks you to enter the card number cancel and it says you have a free 1 month! Found out that by accident!

Yeah you have to have a golden membership to purchase anything off of the XBox Live Marketplace.
