Are we sure to get a top 4 spot

Losing Vidic is a huge blow and with Ferdinand not looking the player he was in the last few years, is it so unthinkable that we could miss out on a top four spot?

Jones and Smalling seem great prospects to me in the centre of defence, but they are far too inexperienced to be our first choice pairing, and I have little faith in Johnny Evans. With De Gea also being relatively inexperienced, I think that our defence could be very vulnerable this season.

I'd put my house on City reaching the Champions league, and the other spots seem to be between United, Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. A few years ago, if we were in this situation, I wouldn't have had too many worries, but the strength of the top 6 this season is much higher than ever before in the Premiership.

We have built a very promising squad of highly talented young players, and I have faith that many of them could become integral parts of a great United side in the future. My only worry is that this squad has been assembled too hastily, and the vital experience lost in the summer has not been replaced.

Personally, I think we will make the top 4, and maybe the younger players will step up to the plate and win us some silverware. On the other hand, I think that with one or two injuries to key players, we could be making a habit of playing on a Thursday night.
