There is a media perception that

Stoke when they come up against teams like Spurs, Man United, Arsenal, etc have to change their game to suit.

But I thought they used exactly the same tactics against Wigan, Blackburn, Wolves, etc.

Fair play to Stoke, but taking 10 minutes to bomb a throw-in into the box is not my idea of entertainment, however effective it may turn out to be.

The one thing though, is they are not a dirty side, there were very few really bad tackles in the game, so they hardly in the Wimbledon mould. They are just your archetypical long-ball merchants.

On another note, if Kaboul was going to get sent of, he should have taken one for the team and laid out Foy. Just a thought.

Where did you get that from number-eight?

See I would understand if a team with no budget used Stoke's tactics but they have spent over £60M NET on transfers since they came up and are paying big wages on top of that, and for what? To perfect rugby tactics? It's a joke.

Hope we smash them to pieces at WHL in March. If we ever get Foy officiating another game for us again it'll be too soon, the man is a weak cretin.

I have no probs with Stoke....it adds to the variety of the EPL which no other league have. Its a totally different challenge...I'd love to see how Barca cope with an aerial bombarment like that (probably better than us).

We cannot whinge like wenger because thay didn't play a style which we could beat.....its not like we have to watch them every week .

Exactly, fair play they ARE playing to their strengths, but thats not an excuse when they have CHOSEN those strengths. To think a team like Wigan, who actually play some really good stuff on a limited budget could go down this season whilst Stoke continue to play rugby and stay up

And its not just because of yesterdays result, i simply cant stand Stoke

Oh well in that case it is £60M+ net spend well spent. Only City, Chelsea and Liverpool have a bigger net spend than Stoke since they got promoted

They bought 2m Peter and Palacios from us.
What is there not to like ??

I mean, we only play at the Guns of Navarone at most twice per season.

Did anyone notice the towelling material Shotton had on under his shirt?

Whilst what they do is not actually outside the Laws of the game, it does infringe the spirit of the game. Referees have it in their power to deal with this appropriately, however it took Foy until the 80th minute before he booked the Stoke full back.

The other thing which I know they do, is to tell the ball boys not to hurry if it is an opposition ball, this is something the PL should deal with as it is again bad sportsmanship.

Various times on this site i have seen many Tottenham Hostpur fans belittle opposing fans when they are criticizing the referee. So, please inform how those aforementioned spurs fans are now questioning the integrity of Chris Foy, the referee from yesterday? Isn't that a tiny bit hypocritical?
