about a new deal.

McCoist keen to keep Edu
Rangers have opened
discussions over extending
Maurice Edu's stay at Ibrox,
manager Ally McCoist has
confirmed.
The 25-year-old United States
international moved to Rangers
in 2008 and has 18 months
remaining on his five-year deal.
But McCoist is in talks with Edu's
representative in order to fend
off potential suitors for the
midfielder, who was linked with
Blackburn last summer.
McCoist said on
www.rangers.co.uk: "We've
spoken to Lyle Yorks, a smashing
lad who represents Maurice,
about keeping him here. It has
been well documented that we
are looking at keeping Kyle
Lafferty here and, like him,
Maurice has 18 months to go on
his current deal.
"It is common knowledge you
have to make it be known that
you want to extend deals at this
stage and that's where we are
with both of those players at the
moment. I think Maurice's form
in the last three or four games
has been really, really
encouraging and he has
certainly been one of the better
players in the team.
"He's one of these guys who
doesn't always catch the eye but
if you ask his team-mates about
him, they'll say he always gives
performances that are helpful to
the side.
"We've been very pleased with
him. The one thing Maurice does
do is work extremely hard - he's
a real grafter and a workaholic.
That's a massive part of his
game."

in fairness to ally, if everybodys fit and available for selection, he goes 442 with davis n edu centre mid.

just having a look at gers website there. Kyle huttons loan spell at partick has ended. Would like to see him get a run at centre mid. Liked the look of him.
Ideally it would be davis and ness as our two centre mids, but i fear ness is NEVER going to get over his injuries. Hope im wrong, as the boy is talented. What a left peg!

Im quite happy you find that so amusing, Edu is doing a decent job just now, breaking up play. By no means a creative player but to me an asset to the team.
Definitely gets more flak than other players.
Rather he was underated than overated like the lego eater.

If clubs are sniffin about I suppose it makes sense. Longer contract = bigger transfer fee
Look at Whitts, naebody's gave him a second glance since he's been at Ibrox, now he's signed a better deal Fulham are wantin him (allegedly)

Edu deffo deserves a fair amount of criticism tat has come his way.
But the lad has an engine and he can do a specific job very well.
Hes a better player than Scott Brown imo who is in the celtic team to perform a similar role.

Taylor...Edu is better than the vastly over-rated Davis

Edu has twice the amount of goals Davis has this season!!
Davis has done nothing for a while now.
