Well, it looks like it's gonna be another Queensland 3-0 whitewash thanks to his silly comments today.

I'm all for free speech...but why does this guy have to make a blunder like that?
Honestly, what a complete and utter waterside plank!
Who will make the next verbal blunder, I wonder?
(Raiders leading Bulldogs 10-0 at HT in Canberra in other news...)
Thanks Benny !

Glad I got that off my chest...
Less than 24 hours to go now.

think there might be other factors more significant than those comments.

Sure cheese but very bad timing nonetheless.
You need to understand that given the disasters in January it was a very irresponsible remark and was jumped on immediately by the press here.
In the end it was a much tighter game than expected. NSW were on the back foot for most of the first half and well into to 2nd half. Unable to make a dent in the Qld defence, and then a defensive blunder to let in the soft try to Yow Yee.
I suppose it was an impossible task given the fact that the Maroons have an abundance of Origin experience compared to NSW and have at least 4 super stars in Thurston, Slater, Smith and Lockyer.
NSW have none. Ricky says he will stick with the same team for the next match. Well, it will fail again (with or without more comments from Elias, or anybody else...) I mean, 2 x Cronulla players, over-rated players like Pearce, 'club' players like Soward, no Haynes, Brett Stewart, Hindmarsh or Watmough. NSW are clealry lacking the goods and the grunt which is so vital to turning things around.
