A few stats about Sneijder

He has only played 2 full serie A games this season and hasn't played a game since the 19th of November which incidentally was only the second full game he played for inter.

Out of his last 6 games for Inter prior to that, he was subbed after the 66th, 77th, 61st, 65th, 66th and 66th minute so I think we can all be rest assured he was not the answer to our problems and had we signed him would only have added to the problems!

I think the Sneijder lovers should eat their humble pie and accept he would not have been the right signing given the transfer fee and wages!

I'm only mentioning this because no doubt some people will now feel after our latest injury that Fergie was wrong not to sign him. Yeah, exactly what we needed and should have signed, yet another midfielder to add to our injury list. People should realise that he would have been almost another Hargreaves for us and we surely have learnt our lesson regarding that!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, we probably should have signed another midfielder, but we weren't to know Cleverley, Anderson and now Fletcher would be out for us

But isn't the point of debating things on a forum like this to test out our opinions, and modify them when necessary? Of course you're free to have your opinions. I don't even disagree with some of them. I'm just pointing out that they lose credibility if in the space of 24 hours you articulate two mutually contradictory opinions and express both in a tone that suggests certainty that you are a guardian of The Truth.

If at one moment you are blaming the Glazers' financial restrictions and at others you are bemoaning the 'fact' that Fergie can't see / won't admit the weaknesses in his squad, this doesn't sound like 'having an opinion' but spouting the first thing that comes into your head.

This is something I cannot understand as well. We have no money but spent 50m+ in the summer.

We have no money but signed a homeless footballer (according to some) for 7m.

That's not the behaviour of a club that is cash strapped

It's quite easy to tell that RedMacca, DareDevil and Red Russian are older, wiser and more mature than Captain P and Southlondonmanc. A gulf of difference in writing style and common sense

I'm 46 and go to most games

Although this isn't totally 100% correct. it really seems like it's the non-manc armchair fans that complain whilst the guys on here that go regularly are the ones that get behind a player and the support the manager

The slating of Ando is unreal considering the guy has never had a good run in the team because of injuries

He looked to be sorted and had his first pre-season with us this season and looked on fire. I eally feel for the guy. He must be utterly frustrated

There was a comment earlier in the thread that stated that SAF looks for a player that he believes will integrate into the team as opposed to just buying a superstar. Bill Shankly was a master at that. He always looked for a type of player he needed rather than just a name and it worked like a dream. Sir Matt was the same and so is SAF.

By this weekend we could be top on the league. Considering what City have spent on superstars coupled with our unbelievable injury crisis suggests to me we are ok.

One season out of the CL because of injuries is not the time to panic

I'll say it over and over again. Fergie isn't building a one season wonder team or a 2 season wonder team, he's building a team that can stay together for 5-10 years. Look at the team that demolished arsenal. An average age of 23 wasn't it?

I'm 31, born and bred Mancunian and go to games when I'm home. I work in Aberdeen so it's hard but I still go to games. I'm old enough to remember poor and excellent Utd sides and this side has immense potential. Unfortunately the kids (adults can be kids as well) can't see that.

I keep asking, where were these posters when we were beating everyone at the start of the season? They are plastics, ignore them

Exactly. We challenge during transition, The midfield will fix itself in the next couple of years. I'm prepared to wait

Hey, I'm not *that* old! There are a number of professional footballers who are older than me. Admittedly, most of them are goalkeepers.

Haha, but you're not 16 behind a keyboard playing football manager. Well you could play football manager in your spare time but at least you don't want Fergie to play FM

Anderson

For the record, I've never played computer games. It would be too dangerous. I've got a bit of an addictive personality. I can waste hours of my life on things like Tetris and Minesweeper, so these days the first thing I do when I get a new PC is delete all the free games!
