Good luck Gary

Just like to wish Gary Hamilton the best of luck in his new venture, if as expected, he is unveiled as the new Glenavon manager today. I had my reservations about him in his last two seasons with us before he went there on loan, but to be fair he came back in at the start of the season and has been top drawer since. Far and away our best player, and it will be a blow to lose that quality but if I was him I'd have done the same. The chance to play for or manage the team you grew up with is a dream that few people are lucky to achieve in football. No hard feelings Gazza, good luck.

A replacement of similar stature will be difficult to find, as Scotty has already proved with some of the forwards he has already signed. The boy Quigley (ex St. Pats and Bohs) from Dundalk has been mentioned in despatches, would be a decent shout, but I would imagine we dinnae have the money. The next signing the club make will be very important, so they'll neeed to get it right. Time will tell.
