Last season at Hillsborough Joey Gudjonsson completely controlled the game for Town. He had Wednesday in the palm of his hand and dictated the pace of the game from start to finish. Despite the fact he was largely disappointing for most of last season, that midfield performance will go down as one of the best I've ever seen from a Town player.
Talking to a Wednesday mate of mine today and he recalled just how good Joey was last season and asked why he no longer featured in Clarks plans. The obvious question was then asked:
"Who will be pulling the strings on Saturday in his absense?"
Do we even have a playmaker anymore? Roberts and Ward are both out and out wingers, Arfield is used more as a wide midfielder while none of Johnson, Miller, Gobern and Robinson are overly creative. McDermott springs to mind but he can't even get a look in at the minute.
So when we're looking for a performance similar to Joeys last season, who should we be looking at?

I shall be somewhere on West Street with my brother and a few Wednesday mates from 11:30ish onwards. They're taking us to a few "Wednesday pubs" so I shall be wearing my Town shirt and scarf with pride and hoping to make it out alive!

If Gobern comes up against Semedo, they'll both be walking. Semedo is top in the fouls list for Wendies...could need a strong ref...anyone know who's drawn the short straw for this one ?
As for Wendies in 2nd place...fact is the table doesn't lie...so yes, you probably deserve where you are...but 26 games are left...anything can happen yet.

Parkin or Novak up front with Rhodes for you guys??? If Parkin plays and you hoof it up to him, you will probably lose. If you play Novak and try to play to feet, you will have more success.
As for Tommy Miller, he is a decent player, but just!! There is a reason that he left us you know, he wasn't good enough!! But stick a good player along side him and he won't do much wrong either.
