SPECIAL PLAYER

Apparently we are gonna go all out and sign a SPECIAL PLAYER in January, if true I can only assume SPECIAL PLAYER = NEW STRIKER. But who could it be?

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp says the club are ready to sign a "special player" in January but does not expect it to be Carlos Tevez.

Redknapp said: "If someone came along who we thought was special and could make a difference, we'd go for him."

Spurs have recently been linked with Argentine striker Tevez, who is keen to leave Manchester City.

"He's a special player who could make the difference," said Redknapp, "but I wouldn't think that's a possibility."

The Spurs boss is confident that chairman Daniel Levy will give him the funds to sign a top player in January.

"The chairman would back me all the way if we felt it was someone who could take us that extra little bit forward," he added.

"But finding them is very difficult, there aren't many around like that."

This one's straight out of Arsene's book of responses on transfer speculations.

So we can expect a Benayoun loan deal then?

Before we buy any player, we must keep the current crop of players happy, that is vital! So SPECIAL PLAYER != trouble maker or disrupt squad.

Chet I think that's right. It might be a little optimistic anyway thinking it's Kaka. I'm hoping it's a quality striker or CB more than anything. Surely Harry will realise these are our weakest areas.

RRP - Looks on fire this season but took him a while to get going (17 in 65 for Cologne last 2 seasons ). Couldn't this be like if someone came in for Defoe midway through his 18 goal season? We all know Defoe isn't always that good.

Spurtle - Thats true, but he does have 14 goals so far this season...maybe its because i watch the Bundesliga highlights every week that im going overboard, but he is a quality player

RRP - Ahh fair enough, I trust your judgement more than mine, as I have no insight into German football apart from Wiki stats
