Rubbish - Absolute Rubbish

Selections were rubbish.

1. Nyatanga was solid enough BUT by playing him McInnes unbalanced the back 4.
Crying out loud, how many times did Fonts turn back across himself on to his left foot(he can't kick with his right) and send the ball back across to Nyatanga and McGivern and some clowns on the radio wondered why Albert was totally ineffectual 1st half.
2. McInnes dropped Cisse and selected Pearson/Woolford. Madness.
Result - Kilkenny played in our half and not theirs and the same clowns wonder why Maynard wasn't in the game.

Forest are, without doubt, the worst side we've seen at Ashton Gate this season and it took a wonder save from James to get us a draw.

Sorry Derek to get the best out of the current squad at BCFC you have to play Cisse with Elliot which allows our only creative player Kilkenny to play in the opposition half.

Derek - you lost us 2 points today.

I would agree with this and hope DM learns from his mistakes.

Wilson has done enough to stay in the team and i am not a great fan of Nyatanga, he makes too many errors in a match.

With the correct squad, Cisse needs to be playing every game, as he protects a weak defence, at this level.

Specialist full-backs are required and a strong first-ball Centre-Half.

I hope January transfers can address the weak areas, or we will be in for a very tight finish, to the season!

Yes, in general agree with everything said here, especially the Cisse/Kilkenny remark, this was the worse performance i thought since Delboy arrived, but please tell me after only 10 games we're not starting an attack the manager thread?
I a not sure if you 2 guys have player, but there is a very interesting interview with Delboy after todays game which you may want to listen to, about our players formations AND players we need!!!

I don't have access to that, what were the main points he made?

And, i would also add lets give the man a break whilst he is working with A N Others squad of players. I think it will chance when he gets a few of his own in.

'i would also add lets give the man a break whilst he is working with A N Others squad of players'

Morning R/S.
Know what you're saying but 'balance' is a 'Basic'.
It's nothing to do with whether this player is better than another but playing them (Fonts) out of position makes things a lot worse. Getting 'Basics' wrong worries me.
And by dropping Cisse stopped Kilkenny getting past the halfway line. That's Junior(Not LJ) football.
Now McInnes is looking for ( as GJ would say) 'another club in the bag'. Presume he means another Adebola and some on here gave that as an early reason for GJ's demise.
You missed the worst side seen at the Gate this season and visit cast adrift Coventry next week. If McInnes makes the same mistakes ie Cisse and Wilson on the bench, whether we win or lose, it's an early indication that he may not be the man I hoped for.

I think he will learn and not be afraid to admit mistakes, unlike another more rotund, character from the past.

Another Dele shouldn't be used for the lump it forward every time, like before but as another option, when the attractive wing-play isn't working.

R/P what happens when Elliott and/or Cisse are injured he has to try other formations from time to time to try and find other players/formations that we can adapt to.
If the only tactic we can use is Marv and Cisse to back up the defence then we are going to struggle for the rest of the season as teams have watched us play that way and know how to stop us if we only have one way of playing it could only take one badly timed or malicious tackle to end our season there and then.
One thing I did find odd was wanting a target man/hold up player I thought that was to be Steads role, as well as being able to score himself of course and its been a long time since Stead and Maynard or Stead and Pitman played together.
