I want to start post with a story, mainly for the benefit of Paul Peschisolido and Gary Rowett. You see I used to have a dog, a very stupid dog as it happens, who would frequently walk into our patio window thinking that as there was light coming through, therefore, the door must be open. Everyone else could see that the dog was wrong but, obstinately, the dog continued down this merry path of walking into plate glass time and time again. I sensed in the dogs` eyes one day that the reason it walked into the door wasn`t because it could see light from the other side but, because if it kept on doing this, one day the door would be open and it could then walk freely into the kitchen. Now to continue this theme I just want to say to our erstwhile manager, no matter if you pair up John McGrath and Adam Bolder in midfield a million times over, IT IS NEVER, EVER GOING TO WORK!!
Why are Peschisolido and Rowett the only two people who cannot see this? Why do they persist in this naturally defence-minded pairing that offers absolutely nothing other than for two identical players to continually hold back attacking moves, get in each other`s way and stop the rest of the team from playing free-flowing, attacking football?
I'm going to sit in a darkened corner and sob quietly now. Today was just too much to take against a limited team, low on confidence.
Why?

I found that short tale very entertaining Wednesbury.
Just before half time I did think to myself that there was a total lack of creativity from midfield which was not helping our cause in the slightest.
Playing Devils Advocate, those 2 guys have played most of the season and we are 6th (and we were 5th at 3pm). Would we be happy with both of them playing through to game 46 if we ended up in 6th? I would be fine with that myself.

Well gentlemen for me my mind has been put at rest,i was beginning to think i was going gar gar with some of my comments.Today proves to me we are not a top 6 side lacking in creativaty very very vunerable at the back against a very poor side who looked good at times against us.Tonight i can rest easy knowing ive been spot on with my assesments and i can assure you Otep who i have much respect for we wont finish in the top 6 without some additions to our squad.Today was a joke ive seen more class on shobnall fields.

Take your point Otep, but when you look at our worst performances this season the midfield pairing is always the same two. Teams know that when Macca and Bolder are in the team then they can push forward, as the way these two play means they sit deep.
I honestly cannot recall a good probing pass from either of them other than the first-time pass played by Macca in the second half at Oldham. It seems to be sideways, backwards or hoof it on.
I will say here and now that if Peschisolido continues to select the two of them for the remainder of the season I feel we will end up lower mid-table. We invite pressure onto us and with the defence we've got, we simply aren't good enough to be able to cope with that kind of game.
On a separate note, I'm hearing about a tear-up between Amankwaah and Kee at the end of the game. Apparently Amankwaah said something to Kee and it all went from there. Anyone see anything?

Wednesbury great post.
You only need to look at some of my previous posts to know we thing alike.
Dagenham were on a run of 8 sucessive defeats so we make the look good by as you say playing a very defensive minded uncreative midfield.
I critisized last weeks midfield selections but that would have better than yesterday.
As always Magrath spent most of the game following the ball around usually 10 yards away from Bolder.
Yet again too me Magrath was the oppositions best midfielder.
He spends far to much time running back towards our goal following the ball when the opposition have it.
Sadly Webster has gone back to his old lethargic lazy ways and to me is certainly found wanting everytime he comes up against pace.
His positional play most of the time is awful.
Our defence at times looks in need of a leader.
The fact our goal difference is the lowest of the top 12 shows we need to tighten things at the back because we know we have forwards who can score goals,
Be interesting to see how Pesch approaches the Northampton game.
Only won 1 out of 10 at home so surely we will go there and have a go at them which should mean Bolder or Magrath or both left out.
Be a nice xmas present if santa gives Pesch and Rowett a pair of reality glasses.

I read all your comments lads and see them as constructive not negative,my optimism on saturday died as soon as i heard the midfield, it is defensive with no creativity, does not work, you can't dominate a gamewith two defensive midfielders in the formation we play. Chris Palmer must have been very disappointed not to play, after all the reason he came here was to supply midfield creativity that we sadly lacked last season. Defence was a shambles yet again. My head tells me to obtain promotion you have to be solid at the back and dominate midfield, with the personel selected Saturday thats not going to happen and we sent the wrong message out to Dagenham, fed up of saying we need a commanding centre back and a creative midfielder in the transfer window, not expecting us to spend big but surely we can manage a couple of modest fees rather than hoping to land freebies. Its a great shame young Tom Parkes got seriously injured early season because he certainly looked like what we are missing. Think we need an experienced head in there who can organise and bellow out instructions to those around him.

Hope Pesch reads these comments some of us have been saying all these things for ages now, poor defence and no creativity in midfield when Macca and Bolder play in the same team , hope we can bring in a couple players in January to bolster the team if not i dont think we will be good enough to push for a playoff place.
