You know who I mean, Pogba and Morrison. Both different players, both have huge potential and both are arguably too good for the reserves.
I think a lot of fans like me want to see Morrison get games for us from the bench, other fans may be a little bit more realistic and realise that we shouldn't just rush them. But hey you're never going to be ready if you don't get the chances. Morrison played well both times I saw him feature in the Carling cup. Pogba looked more nervous, but it must be hard for him coming into a game as a sub in his position trying to settle down, would be interesting to see him start alongside Carrick and maybe Jones.
Anyway, that get's to my next point. If people think that they are good enough to at least make the bench at United and feature in games we're winning, then surely they should be good enough to make the bench for teams at the lower half of the table. Watching the Wigan match, and the Sunderland highlights, these are 2 teams that play good football who could probably have a little more bite in the middle of the park.
The two boys clearly feel they're a cut above the reserves, and I would think so too. Tunnicliffe left us a boy, and whilst I don't expect him to come back a man, I do expect him to come back a lot more grown up. I think Pogba and Morrison especially could both do with this. If we think Morrison could provide spark into a title chasing team, then surely he could add something to survival fighting teams.
Pogba from what I've heard is determined to make it at United, and is probably being ill advised considering his camp is getting advice from Balloteli's agent. If he was to go away for a few months and get first team football, then he would realise that his United dream isn't far away. With Morrison, he too would probably grow up and mature and realise what kind of future he could have with us.
People may worry that we wouldn't be able to keep an eye on Morrison or he could go off the railings, but wigan is only half an hour away so would be easier to keep an eye on him. If he was to go somewhere like Sunderland, he'd be so far away from home that he'd probably have a chance to get his head out of the clouds and knuckle down, plus there's some united influence in there with our ex players.
Another idea, no matter where they go, would be to send a mentor or coach or someone to go there for the time to keep a watch over them and monitor their progress, after all if these two players (HYPOTHETICALLY AND SPECULATIVELY SPEAKING) went on to become £20,-30m players, then surely it would be worth sending someone to watch over them.
I just don't think reserve level gives them enough motivation, and whilst it's easy to say if you keep working hard in reserves then you will get your chance, you have to look on the other side where people say they have no experience.
I also think it would be good for both of them to go to the same club together, that way they can learn their trade together at a higher level and have a better understanding of playing together competitively, although I very much doubt they would both start or even get too many chances to play in the same team.
Or we could just send them to Peterborough.
Thoughts?
*edit* - Pogba's intervie with manutd.com
"It's very good [here]," he told MUTV. "I'm getting in the first team and I enjoy it a lot. I have to carry on and try to play more games.
"[My debut at] Leeds was a great feeling. I played away, in a derby as well, and came on for Ryan Giggs. I thought: 'Okay, now is a good chance to prove myself and to show them what I can do'. We won that game and it was a very good feeling.
"I told myself I've just tasted it, now I want to eat it - I want all the cake now! I want to play, work hard and do my best to get in the first-team squad."
"I think you grow up a lot at United," he admitted. "I came from France. I'm here and I know what I want to do. I just want to be a first-team player, a great player here and that's it. I want to play with the first team."
When will they be ready for loan?

Neither will go out this year I think, Pogba due to the lingo and Morrison is on best behaviour.

I'd like to see us some of our young, unproven players out in january.
Playing them in the CC with proven misfits like Gibson and Diouf is not the right way to develop them. They need to play in a competitive side, preferably the Premiership. Look what happened to Sturridge and Wilshire when they did that.
otherwise, they'll turn into the next Gibson and Diouf

I think a season on loan to a decent Championship side would do them the world of good because I don't think they would get much game time at a Premier League club to be honest.
Reserve team football isn't really doing them any good at the moment and that's because it lacks that competitive edge that you get from playing competitive League football. They need a loan spell to prove whether they're able to play at a decent level and I'm sure in the Championship they'll do that if they get a good chance. It did Cleverley a lot of good so hopefully if they do go out on loan, it'll do the same for them.
If they do well on loan in the Championship, then the next step should maybe be to go out on loan to a Premier League club. We need to just take it a step at a time with the young players we have at the club and not rush them like you've said.
