Word has reached Gibbo towers that the FAI have been in touch with young Rory and he is over the moon and will be called up for Irelands next U21 game.
Fair play young buck

What's your point caller?
The thread is about young Donnelly. Do you honestly have nothing else in your locker?

The young lad has everything if you ask me. International football is a load of bar locks, let's be honest. Players are only lettin on at that level, and you rarely ever see a tackle. I doubt the NI/ROI issue is at the forefront of his mind at this moment in time, more the fact of where the best place to ply his trade would be. What are your thoughts on that Gibbo, The Pool, Everton or Swansea ?
Who do you reckon will replace him at Solitude ? My money is on Liam Boyce until the end of the season anyway.

Swansea POEB. I also think he has the heap, a wee bit of work on his upper body and he will be a machine. If he goes to one of the Scouse ugly sisters he might find it hard. I am not suggesting he would disappear but the 35m man, Mr Carroll sits on the bench. I think Rory would be closer to the 1st team with the Welsh.
Look what happened to Boycie ffs.
I have heard the whispers regarding Liam too, would be a good move for us although I think he would be better off finding a club over the water. Liam is a good 'un but I am sure you will agree that Rory is a different kettle of fish altogether.

Great news Roberto,if its true.Think its too late for him to get in to the Euro 2012 squad if he made it into the Swansea team bagged hit a few goals -ahead of Walters?

Dont count our chickens yet, remember Ferguson. Was itching to declare for Ireland but Gerry turncoat had a wee word in his ear about how he will probably not get a chance with ROI etc and now he is back with NI U21s

I'd expect him to declare from us in a few years when he's got his premier league career sorted out.
Would be another great steal from the Norn Iron production line
The huge gulf between the NI and ROI teams thesedays and the fact that we actually compete at major tournaments occasionally, means the "decision" is a footballing no-brainer for even the most indifferent of NI players...
NI don't need anymore strikers though, they've got Laugherty

I would think there would be something seriously wrong with the FAI if they had not got in touch with this young Irish man.
The FAI have a patriotic duty to field the strongest team that qualifies and as Rory was born and reared in Ireland he certainly qualifies.
