Was this a twitter conversation by the way?
I can't understand Spurs being so stubborn on this one. At the moment Naughton is their 4th choice right back and in demand, how many clubs can say that?
Not only that but he's commanding a decent price and I'd hope that 3million would be a fair valuation and that we'd have the funds to buy arguably the best RB in the division last season at that price.
Failing a permanent though would another season long loan be as beneficial to us as it would Spurs or should we only be looking for a long term replacement i.e. Lee Peltier?

I'd snatch your hand off or a season loan right now. We can sign him permo if we get promoted!

Yes me too. He's not going to get many games at Spurs next season and he's too good a player to be stuck on the bench or in the reserves.
Another season long loan would be great, with a view to a permanent signing next summer.

Harry Redknapp is shrewd and a good manager.
He did the same when Adel Taarabt was in demand. Put a £4 mill price tag on his head but let him go for much less i think.
If Modric goes a deal may be on for us to sign Naughton. If Modric stays then Harry will want plenty of money coming in from the likes of Keane, Pav, Kranjcar and Naughton.

Didn't Spurs pay £5m+ for him?

Something like that fatfox. Was it 10 mill combined for Naughton and Kyle Walker from Sheff Utd?
But he also put a 4 mill plus fee on Taarabts head but let him go for around £1-1.5 million?

Blades turned down an individual bid of 5m (from Everton, I think) before the combi offer from Spurs (which was undisclosed, but yes, about 10m). Seems a bit soon for Spurs to mark his price down – after all, at his age, he was obviously a buy for the future. I mean, great for us if they do, but it somehow doesn't ring true.
