Suarez

Just heard that he has been fined £40k probably less than a weeks wages
and banned for eight games, I am sure that part will hurt.

If football has to have any credibility then surely there must be a criminal investigation. The above is a slap on the wrists to be honest any fan gets an automatic three year ban, and an additional banning order for ANY other
offence. Some will say that it is a cultural thing but I am sorry that doesn't wash. Racism, like sectarianism is wrong no if's buts or maybes.
There has been many articles and debate on the issues blighting our clubs
and the concencus seems to be the vast majority from both sides are united in their condemnation.

Suarez should have been banned for a minimum of eighteen months, it may be his livelihood at risk but if you drive for a living and get caught drunk driving then you lose your job and no one has any sympathy. As for the fine it really wouldn't matter to a very wealthy player but it could have been at least one months salary. I am guessing that would have been pretty close to a quarter of a million pounds.

I think the apparently lenient sentence is because John Terry will be up for the same if found guilty let us now see what action the Police take, anything less than full criminal prosecution would be nothing short of a disgrace.

Guy gives you a dirty hit. drap the gloves, pull his shirt ower his heid and punch the living sheeite oot eh him.
Problemo solvedo. 5 mins in the sin bin come out and score the winner. wee bit carried away there.

Suarez admitted using the N word but claimed that is acceptable in Latin America. Poyet but up a stout defence on that basis, Duke, yes educate but as Sasa stated being a footballer in this day and age is a privelege. The fans would be banned, and the players are supposed to be role models.

Title, shouldn't parents be the role-models for their kids?
Because a guy can kick a ball should not and does not make him a role-model.

Of course Quebec, I meant in terms of sportsmanship.
I was also trying to stress punishments dished out to fans. Take the guy with the banner last week, wham lifetime ban by Celtic, many agree that was the right course and condemned him unreservedly. As I say the
mandatory sentence in England for a fan is three year ban from all grounds and a suspended banning order for any other offence. Players have to be as accountable as fans.

Super - See hwere ur comin from but not quite the same as callin someone a n_gger!

If it's ok where that wee ratbag comes from, why's he the 1st to be outed for it? Racism in sport is not on and there are various campaigns and initiatives to remove it from football. Whether by choice or not, if you're playing at that level, you're a role model to the kids watching you week in week out. Always thought it a cop out myself but it is a fact, people look up to you.

Not severe enough a punishment in my opinion.

Now... Sssshhhhh - Gary Anderson is comin on
