Luke Chambers

It is widely reported that several clubs are willing to offer him a route away from the CG and that we can't afford him after his contract expires in the summer.
IMO we should get rid and replace with somebody who gives inspiration to his team. He's not a 'hairy asked defender'.
He was brought in by CC from Northampton Town and while he played well last season I feel he is one of those that has missed the positive vibes continually given out by BD and hasn't flourished since his untimely departure.
Thoughts?

If the price is right, get rid.

And replace with what? Don't be silly.

i don't want him to go, but if he won't sign a new contract, then i don't see that we have any other choice than to sell.

Hoons is right. If he won't sign a new contract now (at a lower wage) we should try to sell rather than risk him leaving on a free in six months. Same goes for any other player whose contract expires this summer. I'd take whatever we can get should be £200K +. We'd be left with Wes, Lynch, (Moloney and Moose if desperate) and hopefully a loanee for CBs.

Then start on those with eighteen months to go. Offer them extensions at lower wage, and if they don't accept the extension sell (or swap) in the summer

When we got rid of Willow we got rid of the wrong defender.

get rid.

if i was him, i couldn't leave forest now. he's just been given the club captaincy. we've made him the player he is now and if he goes he will have re-payed us with a poor season so far and legging it off at the first available opportunity

whilst chambers has been nothing but a cancer this season, what use is 200k to us?

we have no defenders, we won't get enough for chambers at this stage to sign any more than one replacement and the calibre that we can get for that sort of money is severly limited, especially considering that our scouting network never finds any gems that my mum couldn't have told you all about.

we're done unless we sell someone for good money cash up front, done.

like most players, he is selfish vermin.

he will only be considering what he wants for himself, his attitude all season tells you he has no sense of loyalty or professional pride.
