Red light flickering on ps3

its actually £110 to get it replaced. i did it and they replaced mine

was that under warrenty iV wIL5H3RE iV (U9880) ?

as it wasnt under warranty anymore i had to pay 110 quid for it to be replaced

WHAAAA?!?!?!?!?!

Sony told me they suggest i buy a new one as the warrenty had expired!

yeah i have tried to open it....

all the screws are out but i cant get the top off where you put the disc in.

there is prob a lot of dust in it TBH as it was on the carpet for a few days.

i do now have a new on which i am yet to turn on so hopefully that one works

if you want to get the disk out do this:

- Hold the eject button and do not let go
- turn the power off and on while still holding the eject button
- keep holding the eject button while the ps3 gets the cd out. it should blow a lot of air everywhere

does that release the disk drive too or just blow the dust out???

it releases the disk. dust will fly out but i dont think it would fix your problem lol
