John Terry and Luis Suarez

Why is JT's case taking longer than LS's? Any updates?
And surely JT should serve the same punishment as LS if not worse?

Thoughts?

I always did have a knack for killing threads.

Either that or people are actually getting on with that foreign concept called 'work'...surely not?!

A tool on the football pitch compared to a tool in his personal life? How is that a fair comparison? So because Suarez has bitten a player (Defoe did the same) handball on the goal line to stop a goal (Henry put the ball in the back of the net with his) and goes down easily (insert any footballer) you can compare that to Terry and all of his indiscretions?

I hope you are not ever on a jury or have to make life decisions!

I take it you believe all the stories in the papers then, despite both parties denying things?

Tell me...how's Gerrard getting on these days? Can I assume he's a racist also because he's a tool in his personal life? Arguably much worse than Terry who, if stories are to be believed, at least did not commit a criminal offence.

Right back at you also - if you base your opinions on every piece of drivel the papers write to sell their merchandise, I hope you don't have to sit on a jury one day. See, it can go both ways.

If you can read I said "It would not surprise me" not that he was!!

Terry: Cheats on his wife, denies it then admits it (lier). Fact. Illegally sold tours round the Chelsea training ground. Fact (caught on camera). His family are scu m. Fact (mum is a thief and his Dad is involved in drugs). Charged with ABH then upgraded to GBH later. Fact.

I am sure there are more I just can't be bothered to look for them.

As for Gerrard, he was very wrong to hit that DJ (even if he was a Utd fan) but please tell me what else he has done to be in your view lumped in with Terry?

TGF and BB

Please look at your postings, you are writing disparaging comments about people you do not know personally, and trying to justify your own players possible shortcomings.

A couple of weeks ago one of our lads at work was taken to a Chelsea midweek game (Genk I think), he was determined to dislike John Terry before he even set foot in SB, he said it was not possible as he is a real laugh out loud, one of your own, character.

A guy who worked in the DCMS in London was on holiday in the states a few years back, he met Gerrard and his missus, and said they were the life and soul of the party, and the most generous couple you could wish to meet.

Strange really isn't it, people who haave never met the guys openly state that they are a holes, whilst those who have met them say they are good fun to be around, I tend to believe the latter, who would you be miserable when you play football for a living, and are paid a kings ransom to do so

I was in no way using Gerrard to justify Terry's actions, merely pointing out the hypocrisy of crucifying Terry according to paper stories whilst conveniently missing out those of Liverpool's own players. I won't defend any player whose actions are indefensible, but I also won't base my opinions on the trash journalists write to sell papers.

Fully agree BB

I think the problem is that too many people are tying the JT and Suarez cases together, and saying "If Suarez is guilty then so is Terry", it then spirals into spats about who is worse and how long they should be imprisoned for.

If we imprisoned people for making racist statements then 75% of the world would be behind bars

Totally agree about Suarez and Terry. Will be interesting to see how it turns out. I don't think I'll be popping on here for a bit after the verdict either way. Will be a virtual WUM bloodbath.

Have to admit I'm surprised they're now dealing with racism as a criminal offence - look at the lady on the tram. Good luck to them, I say, but it's surprising nonetheless. And completely unfeasible, to say the least. Racism is often inherent whether we like it or not, and will take a LOT to even scratch the surface of the problem. Still, they do say it's a greater evil to do nothing, so here's to trying.
