Dialogue

Afternoon all, even though its Christmas, Gary Cahill transfer rumours are still rife.

I read on twitter today that Coyle has said there has been dialogue between Bolton and Chelsea regarding Gary Cahill. Basically, to me, that means he is going in Jan.

He deserves his chance at a top 5 club, I hope he progresses to be a fine player and a good professional. I would be disappointed if he got involved with the likes of John Terry or Ashley Coyles antics down there at Chelsea

If this move is to come to fruition, I think it is important that we get a player on loan for 6 months from it plus some cash.

I would be hoping for something like 7million plus Lukaku/Kalou on loan.

Anyone else got any other thoughts on this?

I understand that we can have another Chelsea player when Kakuta returns, but Boyata and Kakuta are still both under 21 and their return still leaves us with player(s) to get rid of if we want more than a replacement for Cahill.

I was not refering to that Bricks i was saying that i think both players will return to their clubs in January thats all.
Your right regarding the player issue but as you said being Tope has not had a look in and Blake is not even near the bench now i reckon both are likely to get the chop from the 25 man squad. I guess than Davis was never registered?

I still say he should go overseas to better himself.

We'll see how things go in January I suppose. Owen Coyle's better signings have occurred in January.

I think he was always going to leave in January ... he can't get away fast enough, if reports are to be believed. Would be great if there was more than one club in for him, as the most important thing for us in all this is how can we get the maximum amount for him (be that cash, or cash + a decent loan player).

I'll wish him all the best when he goes though, wherever that happens to be

Decent of AVB to confirm an interest, a bidding war would be good as long as it's concluded early Jan.

the rules are you can loan 4 players from other prem clubs but only 2 at one time as we have now.you cannot loan 2 players from 1 club end off.we cannot have mceachran, lukaku or onuoha on loan.we can pick another loan player from one of the other 17 prem clubs when kakuta returns to chelsea.i think we are stuck with boyata as he is on a season long loan.i would not return him as we will need him when cahill goes, the lad is a centre back, not a right back.

benny, according to Coyle's mate Nixon, we're getting shut of Boyata in January.

The loan rules are crystal clear: maximum of four from domestic clubs in any one season, all four MUST be from different clubs. You cannot send one back and get another from the same club.

The two-at-the-same-time rule is a completely separate clause: you can only have two domestic loan players at once from anywhere at all. We have Boyata and Kakuta, which is our maximum cohort of loan players. We can get two different ones if those two are sent back ... however, we cannot have another City or Chelsea loanee. You can read this in the current season's PL handbook on the PL website: the actual rules, not half-baked newspaper and radio punditry

the boyata loan is very strange to me.i thought a season long loan meant a season long loan.kakuta clearly signed till jan when we signed him in aug so he goes back.boyata surely we are stuck with him?

Not if both clubs agree to end the agreement.

If Coyle gets on the blower to Mancini and says he's not going to play him any more, it's not good for the player to leave him where he is if City feel they can farm him out somewhere else or better develop the player, or even sell him.
