N'diaye - 48 hours to decide

http://www.echo-news.co.uk/sport/theblues/9094475.48_hours_to_N___diaye_D_day/

I started reading this article and was initially very excited by the news - a season long loan is good for all concerned. But the killer punch was in the last sentence:

"However, Southend’s interest in N’Diaye points towards skipper Craig Easton leaving Roots Hall."

For me, I'd prefer to keep Easton, than sign someone on a loan whose one goal would be to get back into the Championship.

Can I have my cake and eat it please?

Thoughts...

If this was a year a go i would have been excited about this but its not. its still would be good signing but it is more on a pointless side of things. i mean we have grant, Ferdinand and Easton and i would rather keep Easton and Ferdinand. Maybe this signing might be happening because one is heading out. hopefully grant. Well at least we are seeing more transfer activity

I think it would be a good signing for us. A big strong lad that will suit league 2 footballer. It mentions that he was frustrated at being a holding player last year. This seems a lot like Grant's situation which could mean Grant leaving.

I think Kane know's himself that another year at Southend, playing regularly would do him the world of good. And then maybe look at his options next season.

Easton improved as the season went on, which initially means i want him to stay. But the injuries he picked up left us a bit short so if that was to happen again, this season, I wouldn't mind if he left or stayed.

I cannot believe that we would just let Easton go. He is our Captain, the man who gelled this bunch of nobody's together. I am livid.

There is no replacement for your Captain. Yes, Barker (if he stays) will be an excellent replacement, but losing an influential midfielder is not on. Sawyer and Ferdinand will not last 40 games in what will be their first full season - they are not strong enough nor good enough yet.

I am starting to hear poor things about our club again, including wages not being paid on time etc and arguements within the management. When are we ever going to get on a level footing financially?

According to sky sports.com, Craig Easton has just turned down a new deal at Southend and is available on a free transfer. if this is true i will not be a happy bunny.
He was a key player last season after he got injured our form went downhill. We would still have a better season without him but we should not get rid of him it would be a silly thing to do. Also i like his blogs on the clubs website.
