Without sounding as if I'm taking something away from Englands current reign on cricket...which I'm not.. for getting to No.1..........
BUT
I think the current crop of cricketers world wide is a hell of a lot weaker then at any other point in time...
If you take 2 players from the top 6 nations and put them against 2 out of those same nations either 10, 20 or 30 years ago they would cop a belting...IMO
Agree or dis-agree, it's all about opinions after all.
Todays 11 against an 11 from ****

Genetically, how do you get to be two-fifths of anything?
Depending how many generations you go back, its halves, quarters, eighths, sixteenths, thirty seconds, sixty-forths etc.

COOK is a weaker cricketer than any you have seen Rabbit? Wow you can't have watched much cricket then!! In my humble opinion (and its all subjective i guess) he could become the highest run-scorer of all time, certainly as far as age and number of runs concerned he is well ahead of overtaking Tendulkar. And I don't think that Pieterson will be far behind (if he doesn't do one and throw in the towel early) No i have to disagree there are one or two MAJOR talents in the England side - but not many elsewhere, i agree!!

I am disagreeing and saying I think that Cook and Pieterson would disprove your theory. Am i missing something here? Or have you forgotten what you said?

Ah that old chestnut....you will be saying Kepler Wessels was an Aussie next.!
Besides, you didn't stipulate they had to be died-in-the-wool Englishmen, just that they played for any of the Nations at present

Cook or Pieterson wouldn't of got a run in the great sides of yesteryear...be it England or Sth Africa..
