season ticket holder here from South Manchester.

Did not realise until today that the trains are not running, and can find no bus that goes to the reebok from near me

Is there anyone who knows an alternative way to get there or perhaps would be willing to give 2 very grateful wanderers a lift?

Get the Airport bus (500?) or another to town and then the no 8 to Bolton.

Long shot as i have just seen your plight, tram from alty to bury...i will pick you up in bury take you to reebok & meet with my buddy who lives in sale, he will take you back after game, if any good come back on as soon as possible leaving home at around 1.45/2.00.
