A lot more people are complaining about the lack of atmosphere at the Galpharm nowadays...Today was dire in the extreme, even the Chesterfield fans were stunned into total silence...and this was a Boxing Day fixture with over 15,000 attendance !
So what EXACTLY is the problem ?
- is it not being able to stand up
- is it not having the south stand for our own fans
- is it the style of football we are playing
- is it over expectancy , like we thought we'd win 5-0 today ?
- is it the horrendously loud carp music they play in the stadium that kills off any chanting before the game ?
.....Why is it so bleeding quiet, where has the atmosphere gone, and more important, how do we get it back again ??
Galpharm like a morgue..?

Thanks Bara, it will only take the big teams at the Galpharm to sort the atmopphere! League 1 is dull, we have been here for 9 of the last 10 years, new teams, more banter, SORTED.

If we had played a decent side yesterday, A side with a cutting edge, We would not have kept a clean sheet, simple as,, Chesterfield will get thumped when playing our promotion rivals away from home.,,,,,,,,,,, As for the atmosphere, It is carp, It isnt carp because we play poorly, It isnt carp because we have spent a few seasons in the same division,, It is carp because the people who make a bit of noise are spread all over the shop, It is carp because people who should sit in the "Stand" are spread all over what should be the "pop" side, It is carp because what could have been a lads end "cowshed" was turned into part of the largest family stand in the world, It certainly is not a poor atmosphere because the corners are not filled in, Nor is it because the pitch is 5 yards further away than some other grounds,, It is simply because those who go for a sing song cannot congregate anywhere in sufficient numbers,,, Having watched Town since 75 i would say that this is our division, 10 years in the champ/first/2nd tier, 6 years in the bottom tier, Leaves 20 years in the 3rd tier ! As for saying the players give us nothing to cheer, nothing to get behind to lift the atmosphere ? That is not the point is it, The ground should have a jovial atmosphere when entering it, Lads having a laugh and singing, The atmosphere should be building before the game starts, Not be anaesthetised into silence by over loud carp pop music that is played from half two onwards and then to have the club captain asking everybody to remain seated !!!!!!!!!!! To those of you that say the performance on the pitch affects the atmosphere, You need the team to get you going, Bored with the same division etc etc, That is not the point, People like yourselves are the ones who join in when things are good, Which is great, But Town used to always have a decent singing/noisy/banter section whichever division we were in and however we were playing, If we were playing well then of course it would be better as more would join in. I know a helluva lot of folk who are of a similar age to myself who feel the same as i do, "no fun going to games anymore", Lads who remember having a good crack on the terrrace,,,,,,, Someone hit the nail on the head by saying about our away following being different, If the same folk who go to Notts Co and Tranny were allowed to sit/stand on an unreserved Kilner Bank at home games, Things would be far different, It would be a much more fun place to go and a much better atmosphere for all concerned,,,,, As it is Hoyle n co seem to be treading the path of being more than happy to be told what to do by the H&SS mob and killing any atmosphere whatsoever,,, Its ok bringing families in to increase the crowd/future fans etc, But how many will continue to go to games when they are teenagers, To be told to sit down, unable to sit with their mates etc etc ??? I wouldnt have carried on going, I would have found something else to do, More fun and a helluva lot cheaper.

To all you moaning minnies who continually moan about Town's home form, or the frigging atmosphere etc. here's a few points for you all to ponder:
1) Only Sheff Wed have won more home games than Town's 7.
2) On Sheff Wed have collected more home points than Town's 23.
3) NO team has lost less than Town's one home game.
4) The Leagues top scoring side has only scored 4 more goals than Town at home.
5) Only 3 teams have conceded less that Town's 10 goals at home.
38, I reckon even a f-ckwit of a manager would be more than happy with the above home form, or do you reckon if you were in charge we'd have collected all 33 home points?
So if we are as cr-p as you lot continually try and make out we are, how do you explain away the above FACTS?

Aren't Charlton unbeaten at home?

Hydy,
I meant to say only 2 teams (Charlton & Sheff Wed) have lost less home games than Town's 1.
But you still get the drift on what I'm trying to say?

Alzheimers is the problem Darn, Mirf forgot what he had just read and what it was about, The old bugga actually got lost and was picked up down in Hightown ;last week, He had got muddled up and could not remember his address, I kid you not, The girls at the local farm shop rang the police, Who came and picked Mirf up, Apparently all he was talking to them about was how great Clarky was and how we were doing well, Unbeaten and improving year on year,,, His missus collected him the following morning after an appeal on radio weeds.
