IMO, the team is 90% complete. A disappointing result v Torquay, but if you can't put the ball in the net, and let the odd one in, you ain't going anywhere past mediocrity.
We need a consistent goalscorer. Our strikers are only consistent in that they are not consistent, either in their selection or goalscoring.
We seem to have more strikers than Bryant & May, but, like theirs, none of them sticks out as being any different.
A guy who can be relied on to stick the ball in from 5 yards is what we want.
I won't be offended if you guys disagree.
Happy New Year to all anyway!

Yep, pretty obvious to see we need a goalscorer. If we had someone who could score the simply goals we would be up there with Crawley. Di Canio has said he's looking for signings and with the news that we are in talks to sign Foderingham on a permenant deal we just need to sign a striker, someone like McLeod who's top goalscorer at a very poor Barnet side or we could try and maybe recall Benyon? had a good year in League two maybe he could help.

Don't think that we could recall Benyon. We sent him out on a season's loan. We can't reneg on that. But we signed him as a proven striker in this league, payed good money. Letting him go away was,IMO, a big mistake by the DiC.
But that's water under the bridge now. For me, I'd put Connell in. At least he is one of ours. Sign a guy who will fit in with him.

Great news about the Clarke/Benson deal, very good business in my opinion. I also think that moving on Benyon is a good move - he clearly doesn't have a future here and hasn't done a lot at Wycombe, so lets save some wages.
Happy New Year guys!

Sounds like Benson is joining us so hopefully he will become the goal getter we have been missing.
I was disappointed when Benyon got very few chances last season as he has proved he can score goals and was surprised we let him go without really giving him a fair crack. I think he will come good again but hopefully that won't effect our chances of going up.
Now hoping the loss to Torquay will have disappointed the players enough for them to really put some hard graft in tomorrow and get back on track with another point or better still all three. An optimistic 4-1 win from me.

I'd like to see that scoreline too, but I have to say I think it's optimistic, Northampton are scrapping for points, the players have a new manager to impress and by all accounts they were unlucky to lose to Burton on Monday. They'll be fired up and we'll need to withstand that, certainly in the early stages. If we can our quality should count over 90 minutes. Important game (as they all are!), we need to keep in touch, particularly as Cheltenham and Crawley both won last night.
