RVP is technically very good and is mnore of an all round player. Shearer was more of a poacher which has all but disappeared from the PL as they cannot be carried by the rest of the team any more.

RVP is better, but Shearer was a great player for you and for England.

Shearer was not a poacher. Shearer when he was at blackburn up until his big knee injury for us could play on the shoulder come short score from long range and short. His hold up play was fantastic and he was much more of an all round player than RVP. He was also able to transform his game to deal with the loss of pace and became a great target man.

It would be funny if RVP scored a hat trick vs QPR now

Shearer a poacher? Bit simplistic. Better header of the ball than Carroll. Better striker than almost anyone. AND could finish better than the likes of Owen.

The only thing he might not be able to deal with is the speed. But, at his peak, he wasn't slow either
